40 Days & 40 Nights of Exodus Homework – Day 5

May 10

Description

Today’s Reading: Exodus Chapter 5
Theme: When Obedience Makes the Pressure Increase

Welcome to Day 5 of 40 Days & 40 Nights of Exodus Homework through Living Waters of Redemption Bible Study.

Today we read Exodus Chapter 5, where Moses and Aaron go before Pharaoh and declare the word of the Lord: “Let my people go.” But instead of Pharaoh releasing Israel, he hardens his heart, questions God’s authority, and increases the burdens on the people.

Exodus 5 reminds us that obedience does not always bring immediate relief. Sometimes when God begins the process of deliverance, the pressure appears to get worse before freedom is fully revealed. Pharaoh’s resistance does not mean God failed. It means the confrontation between bondage and deliverance has begun.

As you read, write down:

One verse that stood out to you
What this chapter reveals about God
What this chapter reveals about obedience, resistance, oppression, deliverance, or faith
One personal reflection or prayer

Key Verse:
“And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go?”
— Exodus 5:2
